Chantal Akerman’s First Films
Chantal Akerman’s debut as a filmmaker at the age of 17 and 18 respectively. Four films shot on Super 8 during the summer and presented in September 1967 for the entrance exam of INSAS (Institut national supérieur des arts du spectacle et des techniques de diffusion). Her short film Saute ma ville, which she makes just a few months after leaving film school, succinctly announces her other films. In 1971, Akerman experiments with the long take in L’Enfant aimé ou Je joue à être une femme mariée.
