New Film School in San Sebastián

Admissions are now open for a new film school, the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola (EQZE). Until May 31 you can register for one of three postgraduate programmes: Film Preservation Studies, Film Curating Studies or Filmmaking Studies. The school is created and financed by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and is located in the Tabakalera International Centre for Contemporary Culture, a former tobacco factory in San Sebastián and the building which also houses the three agents that are part of the educational project: the Basque Film Archive, the San Sebastian International Film Festival and the Tabakalera cultural project.

The number of places for each speciality is limited to 15 people. Candidates are chosen by a selection process. The cost to enroll in the 2018-2019 course that starts in September is 3500 euros.

The new school can present an impressive staff. María Palacios Cruz and Laida Lertxundi will be leading the Film Curation and the Filmmaking department, respectively. Other teachers are Matías Piñeiro, Adrian Martin, Cristina Álvarez López, Salomé Lamas, Ricardo Matos Cabo, Anna Manubens, Beatrice Gibson and Erika Balsom, among others!

You can read more about their pedagogical project and find all the information on the school's website
