Netherlands Silent Film Festival 2026
From Friday 16 to Sunday 18 January 2026, Natlab in Eindhoven will host the ninth edition of the Netherlands Silent Film Festival (NSFF). Over three days, the festival will celebrate the enduring appeal of silent cinema, with each screening accompanied live by national and international musicians.
Highlights of the programme include Soleil et ombre (1922) by French actress-director Musidora, recently restored, with an introduction to the restoration process by Maria Fuentes. Slapstick Saturday features Harold Lloyd’s Girl Shy (1924), a lively comedy full of daring stunts and chases. On Sunday, the spotlight is on Die Abenteuer des Prinzen Achmed (1926) by pioneering animator Lotte Reiniger, the first feature-length animated film, showcasing her iconic silhouette technique.
Tickets and full programme details are available on the festival website.
