Lisandro Alonso at CINEMATEK

Between 8 and 10 November, Argentine filmmaker Lisandro Alonso will be in Brussels for a retrospective of his work (November 8-14) and a carte blanche of films he has selected (November 1-16). The retrospective is organized by CINEMATEK, Cinea and Courtisane. The screening of Jauja (2014) on 8 November will be followed by a conversation between Lisandro Alonso and Stoffel Debuysere.

On 9 November, the symposium ‘Lisandro Alonso: Cinema of Freedom / Freedom of Cinema’ proposes to examine Alonso’s cinema, its specific production context and aesthetic strategies, focussing on its freedom from restrictions of generic cinema (psychological realism, causal narration…). Below you can find the schedule with the talks and screenings. All information, including how to book tickets, can be found on the Cinea’s website.
