Actor’s Studio Closes Down

After the budget cuts of Cinéma Nova and the discontinued support of the Filmer à tout prix festival in favor of the creation of a new Brussels International Film Festival (BRIFF), the cinephile tissue of Brussels gets another blow. After July 31, arthouse cinema Actor’s Studio closes down permanently after more than 30 years of service. The cinema suffered from the competition of the new Cinéma Palace and the fact that the city centre becomes more and more an exclusively tourist zone; the hotel that houses the cinema now wants to increase its capacity and will take over the place.
