Film-Plateau: Dromen, landschap & grenzen
The screening will be followed by an online Q&A with filmmaker Mourad Ben Amor
KASKcinema and Film-Plateau welcome filmmaker Fairuz Ghammam, who guides us through intimate and natural spaces in a triptych of short films. The program includes Step by Step (Ossama Mohammed, 1978), a documentary that begins with village children sharing their dream jobs, though this innocent optimism soon fades. Also featured is Bamssi (Mourad Ben Amor, 2024), where urgent, Instagram-like visuals engage in dialogue with family abroad – Mourad and Fairuz, Tunisia and the world. The final film, The Trip (2019), is a road movie through the rugged landscape between the Texas towns of Marfa and Alpine, with poet Eileen Myles at the wheel, guiding an extraordinary set of passengers.
